Now in its 25rd year, the 81K remains one of Europe’s most diverse and challenging trail runs, a constant physical and mental challenge. Even with the birth of a new longer distance race, the 81K has lost none of its allure or prestige.

- Gorges de la Poeta Raisse Bifu – 34km – 6h30 after race departure (non-disqualification). Runners can finish the 51K course with ranking.
- La Chasseron – 40.8km –7h30 after race departure (disqualification).
- Gorges de Noirveaux – 45km – 15h30 after race departure (disqualification).
- Chapeau de Napoléon – 65km – 20h45 hours after race departure (disqualification)
REFRESHMENTS – Eight official stops offering isotonic liquid, still water, sparkling water, coca, rivella, syrup (mint and lemon), chocolate, farmer, apricots, bananas, oranges, apples, broth, cheese, dried meat, sausage, Tuc, chips, nut mixtures. 3 last posts, hot pasta
Runners have the possibilty of leaving a bag at 45km at the Gorges de Noirveaux. Runners can leave bags clearly marked with their bib number to be taken to this stop.

RACE PACK COLLECTION – Race bibs can be collected from the race office on Friday 16h00-22h00 and on Saturday from 04h00 until 30 minutes before race start. Proof of payment is required.
BIB COLLECTION – Race bibs can only be collected after the obligatory equipment check (race offices open the 7 June from 16h00 to 22h00 and Saturday 8 June from 04h00 to 04h30).
MANDATORY GEAR – Checks will be carried out during the race.
• ID card • Personal tumbler/cup • Minimum water reserve 7.5 dl • Headlamp • Cellphone • Blanket • Safety whistle • Waterproof jacket with a water column (hydrostatic head) rating of at least 10’000mm. Using Gore-Tex, Dry Q or other patented membranes. A simple windbreaker is insufficient. • A long-sleeved shirt • Trail backpack, capacity not important. • 1 x adhesive elastic band to make a bandage or strapping • Food reserves • Sticks are allowed. Any runner who starts with sticks must finish the course with sticks.
Strongly recommended:
• Warm clothing in the event of bad weather • Hats • Gloves • Trousers or running tights • Cap or bandana
ECO goblets will be made available for purchase by race organisers at the event.
PRIZES – Each finisher will receive a small bottle of absinthe and a 81K race prize.

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION
The Val-de-Travers (population 10,900) is located in the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The region is nestled in the valley of the Swiss Jura mountains and lies 30 minutes from Neuchatel ; 1 hour, 15 minutes from Geneva ; two hours from Zurich. Its most populous town is the watchmaking centre Fleurier.
